Fine Art Giclee
Many millions of people visit museums each year and this is a strong testament to the very important role that art plays in human life. Art is an expression of emotion, thought, history, and personality. As such many of us have a very strong attachment to art and art forms an important part of our lives. We look to art for expression and we look to art for its beauty. This is the fundamental reason why the top pieces of art are incredibly well known and it is the reason why many people go to art shows. In particular canvas art has an immense beauty and depth of detail and color that attracts people of all walks of life. The problem with original canvas art is that it is relatively rare and expensive for most people. As such most of us can only hope for reproductions and most of us believe we can only afford cheap looking reproductions. With modern technology this is no longer the reality and using a technology called giclee you can get very realistic looking reproductions and you can get them printed in very high quality on canvas. Fine art giclee prints allow you to bring home some of the rarest pieces you will see in museums for a fraction of the price.

Artwork featured at North Port Chorale auction, concert, giclee print of “Yellow Porch”
The story has history. North Port Area Art Guild was established in October 1998. They changed their name to North Port Art Center in Sept 2008. North Port Chorale was established in Sept 1982 and is ever increasing its popularity and membership base. They hold two main concerts every year in May and December, apart from one performance in July with Northport Community Band. North Port Art Center has graciously donated gilcee print of “Yellow Porch” to North Port Chorale for its auction to be held on coming Saturday. “Yellow Porch” is watercolor painting by Eileen Laske . The painting is of the size 16 X 20.
One can not help noticing, that it is not actual painting but a gilcee print that is for auction. The original painting is not open for auction. The gilcee print too, is officially valued at $75/-
This value itself shows the importance of gilcee printing. Word gilcee has its origin in French language. It means nozzle, or to spurt out. Fine art gilcee uses latest computer and printing technology to get identical copies of original painting on canvas. Prior to this technology, to get copies printed on canvas, we had to use cumbersome method printing with help of silk screens. The original picture is read by computer eye and is converted into digital image. This image is then printed on canvas to give gilcee canvas. In gilcee canvas art or in gilcee printing, the digital computer image is then printed with help of multicolor ink jet printers, and hence the name gilcee. These printers have very high resolution and they use seven color cartridges for printing.
This gives copies exactly identical to original, so much so, that if you buy “Yellow Porch” in auction at North Port Chorale, then even Eileen Laske may not be able to tell difference between her original and the copy.

Giclee Memories
If you want to capture your memories then there are many ways to do this. Many of your favorite images are captured in your memory and you will never forget them. But even for your most memorable moments in life these will begin to fade with time. This is why photography is so very popular. People never know when they are going to have a big moment and in fact for many people there is no such one big moment but rather a series of moments that defines who they are. With modern photography equipment a good deal of these memories can be captured on film. Until recently though these photographs had been incredibly difficult to manage. A photograph would be taken and then developed from film but then would sit in a pile or an album never to be seen together. Digital cameras and digital technologies have completely changed this. Now pictures are easy to transfer and share and categorize using a technology called giclee and so they are no longer confined to a life of neglect. You can bring your memories to even more vivid realization by having these images printed on canvas using giclee canvas printing so you have a big vivid representation of your memories.

Fine Art Giclee Prints Provide Versatility and Beauty
Fine art giclee prints provide versatility and beauty. When original paintings are simply too pricey for the average consumer, or an artist wants to reproduce his work without great investments of money or time, giclee prints are an admired and popular option these days.
Giclee essentially means the artwork is sprayed onto the canvas; it’s French-derived for “spray of liquid.” The finished product is as beautiful as the original and is a great choice for today’s art lovers. Produced on inkjet printers, inks and dyes are fade resistant and of archival merit, and the papers or canvases used for printing are acid free. Many giclee printers also employ the latest computer programs and UV proof inks to produce high-quality, long lasting works of art.
The biggest benefit of giclee canvas art is its versatility. Artists are free to create with various media that’s now easily reproduced (whether it’s 10 or 10,000 copies). Photographers, today’s extremely talented computer artists, painters, and others can all benefit from this method of reproduction. The printer simply takes a scan of the original. (Advanced providers may even change colors or add special effects to further customize the original before printing.) High-resolution images are then printed (sprayed) onto the canvas or paper. Often, protection against water and scratching is also applied. The result: a beautiful piece to hang on a wall, and a versatile means of production for the artist.
